More Info:
These recordings were most likely made on January 6, 1955, when Elvis played Lubbock for the first time, if not, they are from February 13, 1955, when he returned. It was common at the time for artist to visit local radio stations when touring, encouraging the local DJ to play their records, often performing live (or taped) on the air to promote their upcoming shows. Because Elvis and his Blue Moon Boys had so little recorded repertoire, they would supplement their own reprtoire with covers like above. 'Fool, Fool, Fool' was a number one R&B record by The Clovers in 1951, 'Shake, Rattle and Roll' was a 1954 R&B hit in its original version by Big Joe Turner. -Elvis Presley, a Life in Music-.
