Young And Beautiful

Words & Music by Aaron Schroeder, Abner Silver

Lyrics:

You're so young and beautiful and I love you so
Your lips so red, your eyes that shine
Shame the stars that glow
So fill these lonely arms of mine
And kiss me tenderly
Then you'll be forever young
And beautiful to me

You're so young and beautiful, you're everything I love
Your angel smile, your gentle touch
Are all I'm dreaming of
Oh take this heart I offer you
And never set me free
Then you'll be forever young
And beautiful to me

First album:

RCA EPA-4114, 1957, Jailhouse Rock

First recorded:

Soundtrack Session for MGM: Radio Recorders Jailhouse Rock, April 30, 1957

More info:

Elvis sang Young and Beautiful three times in his 1957 movie, Jailhouse Rock. He recorded the song on April 30, 1957, at Radio Recorders. It's not apparent exactly which take or takes were used by RCA on record. Possibilities are takes #18 (actually a splice of #12 and #18 and phrases from about three other takes), #19, or #22. Some sources have indicated that take #22 was used on the original release, the Jailhouse Rock EP. In West Germany, Young and Beautiful was released on a single with Lover Doll (RCA 47-9224). Abner Silver and Aaron Schroeder are the composers.
