Elvis Aaron Presley "The King off Rock 'n' Roll" was born on January 9, 1935 in Tupolo Mississippi, and died on August 16, 1977 in Memphis Tennessee on the age off 42 The first single Elvis made was "That's Allright" in 1954. And many more followed. The releases during his life consisted of 102 singles, 30 Extended Play singles, and 72 albums on RCA Records; four albums on the Pickwick budget label; and five singles on the Sun Records label."

According to Billboard, Elvis had 149 charting pop singles: 114 Top 40, 40 Top Ten, and 18 Number Ones.

Elvis Presley recorded approximately 784 songs, according to the Elvis Presley Official Fan Club.

In his first known public musical performancs,Elvis Presley appeared in a talent show on this day. He was ten years old.

Standing on a chair at a microphone, he sang "Old Shep" at the Mississippi-Alabama Fair and Dairy Show, held in Tupelo. The show was broadcast over WELO Radio, though no recording of it now exists.

Elvis made 31 movies as an actor. His feature debut was in Love Me Tender for 20th Century Fox, with the commercial success of the soundtrack EP being abellwether for the next three Presley films.
