It is a compilation of hit singles released in 1958 and 1959by Presley, from two recording sessions in June 1958 at RCA Studios in Nashville and three at Radio Recorders inHollywood. The album peaked at #31 on the Billboard Top Pop Albums chart, and is considered to be one of the mostsuccessful and influential compilation albums of all time. It was certified Gold on 11/1/1966 and Platinum on3/27/1992 by the R.I.A.A.

On February 19th this LP entered Billboard's Hot 100 chart at number 31 position, it remained on the chart for six weeks.
